A taste of southern Italy comes to your television screen!

Catherine's Italian Kitchen
Irish chef, food writer and cookery teacher, Catherine Fulvio bursts onto our screens with a colourful new cookery series, ‘Catherine’s Italian Kitchen’, on RTE 1.

The show which is sponsored by Roma is filmed between Sicily and Ireland and is really more of a culinary journey and celebration of Southern Italy than just a cookery show.

Beautifully shot, the show features spectacular Sicilian scenery and some fun scenes where the locals get together for great food and family fun. Indeed, the very essence of the show celebrates families and friends coming together for informal meals.

“This show is a sumptuous reflection of Sicilian cuisine” says the effusive Fulvio. “I want to open the doors of Sicily to Irish people and teach them how to recreate a taste of Italy for their own families, in their own homes.”

Viewers will be treated to a ‘no fuss, no bother’ approach to preparing authentic Italian dishes. Catherine is a ‘hands on’ teaching chef herself and owns and runs the highly acclaimed, Ballyknocken House and Cookery School which is located in the pretty village of Glenealy, near Ashford in County Wicklow. Set in private tranquil gardens in the heart of the glorious Wicklow countryside Ballyknocken is a sanctuary for those seeking to learn the skills of preparing fresh local foods in a magnificent scenic location.

Ballyknocken House & Cookery School has won many awards and accolades over the years including the international Cordon D’Or Culinary Academy Award for Cookery School of The Year and most recently Catherine and her team were awarded the coveted title of, ‘Top Regional Member East’ at the Good Food Ireland annual awards.
