Celebrate Irelands Food Heritage at Ballyknocken House

Foodies and heritage enthusiasts alike will enjoy the Ballyknocken farm tour, with everything from an ORIGINAL FAMINE SOUP POT to the ORIGINAL OPEN FIRES WITH THE BASTIBLE AND CRANE in the Victorian farmhouse.
Guests will learn about the rich Irish farming traditions and have the opportunity to see Meg, the border collie HERD THE SHEEP (as seen on NBC Today Show).
This is followed by a walk through the fruit, vegetable and herb gardens, and a Demonstration COOKERY CLASS in the award winning Ballyknocken Cookery School with one of our expert tutors, where guests will experience how to make the wonderful traditional Irish soda breads, Irish Stew and a delicious Barm Brack followed by a light lunch/supper of everything made in the class. Visitors from here and abroad will be interested in joining us for this unique taste of Ireland.
And of course, there is the option to stay over in Ballyknocken farmhouse B&B, a Bridgestone 100 Best Places to Stay in Ireland and Michelin recommended. Take a tour of other local heritage sights when in the area – like Glendalough, Powerscourt Gardens, The Guinness Lake in the Wicklow Mountains and the Brittas Bay coast Drive

A Celebration of Irelands Baking Heritage at
Ballyknocken House, Farm and Cookery School
Join us for at Ballyknocken Cookery School as we celebrate Ireland's baking heritage. In our one hour traditional Irish baking demonstration with one of our expert tutors, guests will experience how to make traditional Irish soda bread and scones and a selection of other delicious traditional Irish bakes, many of the recipes have been passed down through generations of Catherine's family.
Afterwards guests will enjoy the bakes with tea and our signature garden Rhubarb and Ginger jam. Foodies from here and abroad will be interested in joining us for this unique taste of Ireland.
